June in Crete...
June sees Crete really hotting up - in terms of temperature and tourist visitors. The many numerous tourist attractions such as the Minoan Palace of Knossos and the Gorge of Samaria draw thousands of visitors each day throughout the summer months.

A new tourist attraction has opened this year and offers visitors a wonderful chance to see at first hand the diversity of the islands plant life. The Botanical Park of Crete is close to the Omolos Plateau and the entrance of the Samaria Gorge. The Botanical Park shows off over 150 species of fruit trees, ornamental and therapeutic plants and herbs and of course includes Dittany of Crete. Set in a breathtaking landscape the Botanical Park of Crete has a fabulous taverna too.
