DITTANY OF CRETE ESSENTIAL OIL is an all purpose pure Aromatherapy Oil and is produced on the Greek Island of Crete. It is a rare pure essential oil and because of its rarity can command a higher price than say the more common and plentiful Lavender or Rosemary essential oils, for example. It is a difficult and costly to produce outside Crete and I have seen Dittany aromatherapy oil it for sale for 10 times the price we offer here.
Dittany of Crete has been tested and classed as analgesic, antiseptic, anaesthetic, anti-inflammatory, anti rheumatic, bactericidal, carminative, expectorant and fungicidal by the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute. (CIHEAM, 1996, Vallezano-Bari, Italy)
As an essential oil for use in aromatherapy Dittany of Crete is suggested as useful as a relaxant for stress, for anti-ageing, acne, eczema, cellulite, muscular aches and pains, headaches, rheumatism and cellulitis.
Because a little goes a long way always dilute Dittany of Crete aromatherpay oil to 5% or less in carrier oil before applying to skin. Avoid eyes and do not use during pregnancy.
Dittany of Crete essential oil can be used with a carrier oil for relaxing and muscle pain relieving massages.
- A few drops of Dittany of Crete aromatherapy oil can be added to face cream to help acne or other skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
- Used as an anti ageing and wrinkle prevention remedy add a couple of drops of Dittany essential oil to your normal daily face cream.
- To treat wounds, burns and insect bites use 1 drop of Dittany of Crete essential oil to 3 parts olive oil and apply on the affected area twice a day.
- To reduce cellulite use 3 drops of Dittany of Crete aromatherapy oil on a wet sponge while bathing or showering and massage the affected areas by making circular movements.
