August in Crete...
August is the busiest and hottest month of the year in Crete. Thousands of visitors and locals alike flock to the many beautiful beaches here on the Greek Island of Crete to cool off. Most of the popular beaches are packed each day through the whole of August.
It is also too hot to drink hot drinks, so I brew a quantity of Dittany of Crete tea, cool it and serve throughout the day as iced tea. Add honey and lemon and you have a lovely cooling, refreshing and therapeutic drink!
